Official orienteering maps use symbols recognised internationally so whether you limit your orienteering to Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre or plan on travelling further afield you'll be ok if you know these.

Good turnout despite weather
Thanks to all those who braved the wet and windy conditions tonight at Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre. Looking forward to seeing you again next Monday. Bring your friends too.
As promised, look out for links over the next few days to Route Gadget for a previous Sefton Park event - next one is Saturday 24th September (details to follow shortly) - and one of the Scottish races I did last month. There'll also be a link to orienteering map symbols.

Maze
Last night at Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre a small group tried out the maze. 20 controls in the maze but only 10 on your map. Points scored for visiting those on your map, penalties for visiting others. All this within time limit of 2 minutes. Excellent fun.

Fun in Formby
We've recently left Litherland Sports Park for a few sessions in the Formby area before heading to our new Monday Club Night base at Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre. Hopefully we can also set up regular training in Formby if there's sufficient demand.
